Our story...

Callum MacKinnon set up bOunceT (formerly Forth Valley Rebound Therapy Service CIC) in 2016 at just 23 years of age and whilst still at Glasgow Caledonian University working towards an Occupational Therapy degree.

“I wanted to set up the social enterprise initially as I just wanted to see something different in my local area, that I knew would benefit the people I was trying to help. I had a lot of experience working with children and adults with disabilities, and I felt as though there could be more available to them to meet their health and social care needs.”

Armed with his knowledge and experience, plus a huge amount of enthusiasm, he decided to address this gap by setting up the first open referral service for rebound therapy in the whole of Scotland.

There was an overwhelming support for the services’ activities from other ‘customers’ than just the individuals receiving the intervention – professionals in Education, Health & Social Services and families/ carers of individuals with disabilities were all excited to engage with me.
Callum used his skills as a professional OT to make this service as accessible as possible and of a high quality for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities across Forth Valley to attend. Over the last 2 years since graduating, bOunceT has developed it’s programme significantly and we are now reflecting this within our re-brand to ‘bOunceT Innovative Occupational Therapy CIC’.

Callum: “We have – and still are – experiencing change, development & learning experiences both personally and professionally since launching our idea at a very small level that will allow us to grow and maximise our social & therapeutic impact. Our plans for the future stretch beyond just delivering a service as we have identified opportunities to package what we do into various products.
The future of bOunceT looks bright…..it looks blue & yellow!”

bOunceT is a multi-award winning social enterprise aiming to improve the quality of life and participation in occupations (meaningful activities!) for children and adults with disabilities.
