Lien Andries is an Occupational Therapy student living in Belgium. She initially contacted Callum MacKinnon (Founder & Lead Occupational Therapist) at bOunceT a few months ago to organise an OT student exchange in the hope to gain work experience for her CV. Despite challenges with formalising the agreement due to COVID restrictions and other processes (e.g. visa’s) Lien was able to arrange this international exchange as a volunteer!

‘Hello! My name is Lien and I’m a 20 years old occupational therapy student from Belgium. I will come and observe work at bOunceT for 1 week, hoping to learn as much as I can and be able to apply it in my future work. I am particularly interested in learning more about their therapy room, the methodologies they use in practice, and the operations of their business model [since they are a non-profit company].’
This is Lien’s first time ever travelling to the UK so she is very excited to be in Scotland and experience our culture for the week too. She hopes to visit tourist places like Stirling Castle, the Wallace Monument & Edinburgh!
We are sure that Lien will really enjoy her time here & keep us, her family and friends updated about her experience. Keep an eye out for another blog and/or podcast soon to hear about what her highlights have been!
🙂
