Levels of Support

‘Simple version’

At bOunceT, we often think about ‘what we do’ for someone, ‘how much’ we do, and ‘how often’ we do this. We call this a level of support. Think about the image below – do you physically support someone to do an activity – or do they do it themselves (independently).

Levels of Support – in more detail…

At the experiential level, learners and responses are fully supported.

At the contextual level, learners and responses are supported using a range of prompting.

At the generalised level, learners and their responses should be spontaneous and independent.
